Dolmuth

The exhibition “My Seat -Private Spaces Proposed by 13 Designers” was held by the Japan Design Committee at the special exhibition hall at Matsuya in Ginza. Designers and architects around the age of 30 were selected for it, and I also participated.
I proposed creating a variety of seating arrangements by composing multiple cushion units with a 20cm grid. “Dolmuth” was made by combining new materials and technologies at the time, but the production costs far exceeded expectations, and the cleanup afterwards was difficult. Fortunately, a bench-type seat was adopted in the entrance hall of the newly opened Western Theater at Shibuya Parco, and I will never forget how helpful it was.
